XMPlay Controller

posted on 2011-08-18

XMPlay Controller is a command line application that sends DDE messages to the currently running instance of XMPlay. For example, xmpcontrol /PlayPause sends the Play/Pause command to XMPlay. XMPlay Controller is intended to be used with multimedia keyboards when you aren't able to set them as global hotkeys. Other usage is permitted and encouraged too!

I'd recommend command line options llike volumen control, play and exit switches. I wanted to use it to play sounds when some procesess in my computer start and end.

Thanks Jace for the Controller and thanks Fix for "Mext", both helped! :)

FYI, I looked in the program in a hex viewer and the reason the /Next command doesn't work is because it is spelt as 'mext' in the program. Use /Mext instead and it works!

Perfect solution to the dumb itype.exe Intellitype software making the play/pause media keys stop working. Just open the intellitype key config and change the action to launch this program with the appropriate argument. Fixed, Yay!

Very useful indeed; with a simple autohotkey script you can control XMPlay now completely, thanks! One comment though: the /next command doesn't seem to work ...
