This is the best music player ever. Very easy, low memory consumption and don't need installation. All of my friends and clients use the XMPlayer.

This is my #1 player since 2007- but with some update i've lost my favourite frame/page counter as timing indicator. Please, bring it back!

Still my preferred well coded & low cpu-hit audio player. Just reinstalled Win and tried another player for a day and am back on XMPlay again!! Loads as quick as I can click a file (in Win XP + SSD) and plays MODs / XM's very similar to how they sound on the Amiga (with sample Intoplation off). Ogg / Flac support is also perfect.

Now that 3.6 is out any idea why http://un4seen.com/stuff/xmplay.exe no longer able to get latest build? They stop after 3.6? Of is there a new link?

#113 - Wolf commented this file on 2010-12-16, 12:53:28
Excellent ! The best player I ever seen ! I'm a statistician and some players like Real Player corrupt data in memory (I sent an e-mail to SPSS). So it was impossible to work and listen to music at the same time. With XMPLAY, I never had this problem.
Lightweight, play flac files and allow some enhancements like reverb ! Never see a bug in Three years.

Thanks to the team !!!

That being said, was the option removed that allowed to find tracks matching "any" words from the search string?

If BASS.DLL were /the Force/, then XmPlay is Yoda. I was going to say Anakin Skywalker, but XmPlay isn't that complicated; is too soft-spoken. The Jedi Counsel, of course; the benevolent developer(s) of un4seen (bass.dll, XmPlay, the public web content, etc.), clearly individuals of virtue, maintain an exhaustive list of bass.dll-powered apps. Driven by base instinct to hunt, I've spent hours trolling through it on multiple occasions-- a vast population, diverse in freeware, payware, and the stock of turpitudinous doh!-nation grinders-- to return a bounty of fascinating creations is a mere matter of going about to grab it. A User might search with confidence that any descendent of BASS.DLL may be viable to satisfy his or her unique preference. For as many as I've tried, however, XmPlay is remarkable in its ability to run under any condition. Ride it hard, and put it away wet: XmPlay performs as expected, every time, all while leaving no trace of activity on the system, outside of a simple dot-ini file to be found in the same location as the XmPlay executable. Furthermore, in my experience, XmPlay offers the best audio quality, as afforded by the most robust interface to the power of Bass.dll. With the right skin, and the right settings, XmPlay can't be beat for sheer quality to satisfy the most discriminating audiophile. I only wish it had something as "Kernel Streaming" Output, or foo_ks_out , a so-called "experimental", 3rd-party component for another, rather more bloated audiophile's player. (Note: regarding use of Flash object for processing user feedback-- it's unusual-- having flash disabled, it wasn't until i opened the site in IE that i saw it, looked at the code, and realized what was going on. ouch!)

Muito Obrigado

XmPlayer amazed me with wonderful possibilities for playing music, but only ~ 10 MB size.
Wonderful to deal with I-net radio.
The Skin "old receiver is fascinating.
Visual effects in full screen it loaded too.
Method for adding and removing Plugins is that surprisingly easy. + + + + +
It would be great if XmPlayer can read CD and DVD image formats ISO, NRG ...
Indeed, the most popular.
This will save me over 300 GB, because I keep most of discography as a DVD ISO and folders.
Worst comment is to "Playlist" - it has more history and a "library" does not support aspects.
Overall 5 +.

XMPlay is my only music player for a long time and I like it very much. But there are some issues I want to mention:

-There is still no way to find out file extension of a particular file in Windows Explorer (whether it is .mp3, .wma or something else). Is it nesesery to change actual file extension to " XMPlay-able file" "extension"?

-There are some playlist problems with some track names. When player is closed and reopened, some track names are changed, with some hieroglyphics added to it. With each close-and-reopen, amount of hieroglyphics increases. This doesn't happen only when single tracks or their single directories are drag-and-dropped in playlist. Any other way to add a file to playlist cause the problem. Very strange, and very annoying.

XM play is the centre of my module listening world. I love it. I only got into modules after the crowd had moved on. I'm only a listener but I'm so happy working my way through this relatively undocumented sector of musical history. It's amazing that they were always given away free. That's very special, and XM play is as true too.

Excelent, small, and fast player.
The buil-in equalization tool is very good and is the greatest music player available.
I stronlgy suggest giving it a try, and, after all, it doesn't even require installation, so, what's hte risk of trying? Simple: the risk is changing the paradigm of what an efficient player is.

@Ganesh:
The rating is stored in XMPlay's library file - it's considered bad practice to store ratings in tags, because they are something very subjective.

The rating doesn't show up in Windows Media Player! Is the rating info stored seperately or is written into the TAG? I rated a file and the rating is showm only in XMPlay! I can't find the rating in any other player including Winamp, MediaMonkey& Windows Media Player! I hope there is a way to store the rating to the MP3 file itself!
